The 13.F4.C3D-4000 frequency inverter is produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. This compact drive converts fixed-frequency three-phase input power into a variable output so connected induction or synchronous motors can be accelerated, decelerated, and held at precise speeds demanded by automated machinery and process lines. By integrating the control, power electronics, and operator interface in a single enclosure, the unit serves as a ready-to-install component for conveyors, pumps, and other industrial motion tasks.
Control electronics inside the inverter are supplied by an auxiliary rail of +10 VDC for analog reference signals, while logic functions draw from a stabilized +15 VDC digital rail that can deliver up to 100 mA. The front-panel keypad receives its own +5 VDC operator voltage and consumes only 10 mA, minimizing load on the internal supply. Input circuits are protected by a current input resistance of 250 Ω, a differential input resistance of 40 kΩ, and a voltage input resistance of 4 kΩ; these values set the burden presented to external controllers and help prevent signal distortion. The compact control type keeps wiring short, and the separate analog and digital references reduce noise coupling during high-frequency switching.
The drive is housed in the D casing with an IP20 protection rating, appropriate for control-cabinet mounting in clean industrial spaces that fall under climatic category 3K3 and do not exceed a relative humidity of 95% without condensation. An integrated filter and braking transistor accessory improves conducted-emission performance and allows controlled energy dissipation during rapid deceleration. Form-C relay outputs can switch auxiliary circuits up to 125 VAC / 0.4 A or 30 VDC / 1 A for status indication or interlocking. The relay contacts can also be used for run, fault, or ready signaling to external control circuits.
