Product Description:
KEB’s F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series includes the 13.F4.C1G-4A00, an AC drive designed for variable-speed control of three-phase induction motors in automated equipment. By converting fixed mains input into a modulated output waveform, the unit allows machine builders to adjust torque and speed without mechanical gear changes. It serves conveyors, pumps, and processing lines where precise acceleration profiles, energy savings, and consistent motion are required from a compact, panel-mounted controller. The inverter regulates motor operation electronically, allowing equipment to respond to changing process demands without requiring manual speed adjustments.
The drive supports motors rated up to 5.5 kW, giving it sufficient capacity for midsize ventilation fans or hydraulic power units. Its enclosure follows the G-size mechanical outline, which standardizes heat sink length, mounting-hole positions, and busbar height across the F4 range. The IP20 front protection prevents accidental contact with internal circuits while allowing vertical airflow through the heat sink fins. Thermal reliability is maintained across an ambient temperature range of -10 to 45 °C, within which the inverter delivers full current without derating. The control boards are conformally coated and can withstand up to 95% relative humidity without condensation, allowing installation in production areas that experience periodic washdown mist. Adequate cabinet ventilation remains necessary to support airflow and prevent heat from accumulating around the enclosure.
Application tuning is simplified by the Compact control mode, which offers a reduced parameter set for reaching stable operation quickly. Communication with a higher-level controller uses the Standard fieldbus option, allowing basic start, stop, and speed commands without proprietary protocol mapping. During rapid deceleration, the built-in braking transistor channels excess DC-bus energy to an external resistor, helping prevent overvoltage trips. This arrangement permits controlled braking when motor regeneration raises the DC-bus voltage beyond the inverter’s normal operating level. The controls and diagnostics follow the COMBIVERT F4 platform conventions, providing consistent menu navigation throughout the series. The panel-mounted design keeps the power, control, and braking functions accessible within a centralized electrical enclosure.
