Product Description:
The 13.F4.C1D-4000 is a compact AC frequency inverter manufactured by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a variable output that regulates induction motor speed, allowing pumps, fans, and conveyors to match process demands while reducing energy usage. The unit integrates drive control, motor protection, and braking circuitry in a single enclosure, making it suitable for cabinet or machine-mounted automation tasks. This arrangement helps the inverter respond smoothly to changing load conditions during routine industrial operation.
This inverter includes 2 programmable analog inputs, so process variables such as speed reference or torque demand can be wired directly to the drive and scaled through internal parameters. A built-in braking transistor allows excess kinetic energy from decelerating loads to be routed to an external resistor, which helps prevent DC-link overvoltage during stopping events. The enclosure depth of 160 mm keeps panel depth requirements low, and field wiring is simplified by clearly labeled terminals. The drive has 4 programmable digital inputs, which accept dry-contact or 24 V logic for start, stop, jog, or preset-speed functions mapped in software. With a mass of 3.5 kg, the drive can be mounted on a light-gauge DIN rail or back plate without additional reinforcement. Its compact form also helps when replacing older equipment in shallow control cabinets.
The overall height of 240 mm and width of 90 mm create a narrow footprint that lets multiple inverters share limited cabinet space while maintaining airflow clearance. Configuration is organized into 11 parameter groups, which helps separate operating functions into a more readable menu structure during setup and adjustment. Dynamic braking energy is directed to a resistor connected on terminals PA, PB, separating high-energy discharges from control electronics. This layout supports controlled deceleration when the application has frequent stops or rapid speed changes. It also keeps the power connections for braking distinct from the low-level control wiring.
