Product Description:
The 13.F4.S1D-3410 is a frequency inverter manufactured by KEB as part of the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It modulates the fixed three-phase supply into a variable AC waveform so that industrial motors can accelerate, decelerate, or hold speed according to process demands. By converting voltage and frequency in real time, the unit allows precise energy use in conveyor lines, mixers, and pump stations where constant-speed operation is inefficient. The inverter can therefore match motor output to changing load conditions instead of running at full speed at all times.
This drive is built for a three-phase network in the 400 V class and accepts a nominal input of 13.2 A. Feeder conductors up to 4 mm² can be landed on the terminals, which supports standard cabinet wiring for this power range and helps keep connection resistance low under load. Internally, insulated-gate transistors switch at 2 kHz to shape the output waveform delivered to the motor. Continuous motor loading is supported by an apparent power of 8.3 kVA, and the inverter can withstand a short-time surge of 21.6 A during acceleration without nuisance trips. Current monitoring supervises overload conditions so the output is interrupted before the switching devices are overstressed, helping protect the power stage during abrupt load changes. This helps maintain stable motor control during starts, speed changes, and temporary load peaks.
The motor-side rating tops out at 5.5 kW, which suits medium-duty fans, pumps, and gear-driven axes. Over-current protection trips at 26.4 A, stopping the output before semiconductor limits are exceeded during a fault or severe overload. That protective threshold reduces the chance of damage when the motor stalls or the driven machine binds. Thermal management limits the heat sink to 79 °C, and the drive derates or shuts down above that temperature to protect internal components. Proper ventilation around the heat sink helps the unit remain within that temperature window during continuous operation.
