The 12.F4.S1D-4A01 is a frequency inverter produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. The unit converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a variable output so that induction motors can be started smoothly, regulated across speed ranges, and protected from mechanical shock. In automated plant equipment, such control improves energy efficiency and provides coordinated motion when tied to PLC or fieldbus controls. It is suited to applications where motor speed must follow changing process demand instead of remaining at full speed whenever the machine is running.
Electrically, the inverter operates on a three-phase mains input and draws a nominal current of 10.5 A while delivering an output current of 9.5 A under rated load. For brief acceleration or stall conditions, it can supply 17.1 A, and an overcurrent trip is set at 20.9 A to protect the power devices. The power section is sized for motors up to 4 kW. Thermal limits are supervised by a heat-sink sensor, and operation must remain below 73 °C to avoid derating. Command flexibility is provided by one analog input, one analog output, five digital inputs, and a 15 VDC auxiliary supply for the logic channels.
