Product Description:
The 12.F4.C5D-3420 is an AC frequency inverter manufactured by KEB and supplied through the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. The product converts fixed mains power into variable-frequency output power, allowing controllers to adjust induction motor speed and torque for conveyors, pumps, and material-handling equipment in automated plants. Its compact D-size housing is suitable for space-limited control cabinets. The inverter can regulate motor operation in response to changing process demands while maintaining controlled acceleration, deceleration, and steady-state speed. This functionality supports applications that require adjustable output without relying on mechanical speed-control devices.
The drive accepts a three-phase supply within an input range of 305–500 V, making it compatible with 400 V-class industrial networks. It can operate a motor rated at up to 4 kW and provide an output nominal current of 9.5 A. Its apparent power rating is 6.6 kVA, which supports the electrical demand of the connected motor under normal operating conditions. The compact control mode keeps parameter sets streamlined while supporting the Standard fieldbus option for basic network communication. Its power topology uses insulation and electrical clearances appropriate for this voltage class, while the variable output allows the motor to operate across the required speed range.
The housing has a protection rating of IP20, so the inverter must be installed inside a closed electrical cabinet but does not require additional enclosure gasketing. Continuous service is supported at a carrier switching frequency of 4 kHz when the ambient temperature remains within -10 to 45 °C. Operation outside this temperature range requires derating or additional cooling to keep internal components within their permitted thermal limits. The inverter can operate at up to 95% relative humidity without condensation, allowing use in humid production areas when moisture does not collect on live components. The integrated braking transistor, braking resistor, and filter are factory wired, reducing the need for separate external components. The Standard fieldbus interface allows communication with supervisory PLC nodes without requiring an additional option board.
