Product Description:
The 12.F4.C3D.3420 is a frequency inverter manufactured by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Classified under the COMBIVERT F4 product type, it converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output that allows controllers to match motor speed to process demand. The unit has a compact size D housing, so it fits in tight electrical enclosures while maintaining the necessary thermal clearance. In automated production lines, it drives asynchronous motors directly, eliminating the need for mechanical throttling and improving energy efficiency in conveyors, pumps, and fans.
The power section is designed for a three-phase mains supply and accepts line voltages from 305–500 V in the 400 V class, allowing operation across a broad input range. At nominal load, the inverter can deliver an output current of 9.5 A, which corresponds to an apparent power of 6.6 kVA at the motor terminals. When paired with a standard squirrel-cage induction motor, that capacity supports up to 4 kW of rated mechanical power. A built-in filter limits conducted emissions, while an integrated braking transistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. The inverter uses a compact control mode, and a standard fieldbus option supports basic network diagnostics and command transmission.
Output switching is performed at a rated carrier frequency of 4 kHz, balancing acoustic noise with motor heating. Continuous operation is permitted from -10 °C to 45 °C and at noncondensing relative humidity levels as high as 95%. The enclosure carries an IP20 protection rating, helping prevent accidental finger contact with live internal parts after the unit is mounted inside a cabinet. The power stage belongs to the 400 V class, making it suitable for compatible industrial supply systems and motors. Adequate cabinet ventilation must be maintained around the compact housing to remove heat generated during operation. The built-in emissions filter reduces the need for separate filtering components in installations that fall within its applicable interference limits.
