Product Description:
The 12.F4.C3D-4M00 frequency inverter is produced by KEB and belongs to the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It is designed to modulate AC motor speed and torque in industrial automation by varying the output frequency and voltage supplied to standard induction machines. Integrating this unit into control cabinets allows machine builders to match process demands, save energy, and protect mechanical components.
On the supply side, the inverter draws a 10.5 A line current from a three-phase power supply, so upstream protection and cabling must accommodate balanced three-wire loading at this level. Inside the drive, insulated-gate bipolar transistors synthesize output frequencies up to 1600 Hz, giving it the bandwidth to run high-speed spindles or position motors well above line frequency. The power section is sized for motors up to 4.0 kW, making the device suitable for medium-frame pumps, blowers, and conveyors. A front flange rated IP20 provides finger protection only, so the unit must be mounted inside an enclosed panel to help prevent dust or moisture from reaching the power electronics.
At the motor terminals, the inverter supplies 9.5 A per phase, translating into 6.6 kVA of apparent power through a three-phase output bridge. The recommended conductor size is 2.5 mm², and a 20 A gL/gG line fuse should be used to clear faults without nuisance trips. Thermal management is governed by a heat sink limit of 73 °C, while operation within IEC climatic category 3K3 supports adequate airflow and humidity control. The control logic and power stage meet EN 61800-3 electromagnetic compatibility rules, which helps reduce conducted and radiated interference. Installation is permitted up to 2000 m without derating, allowing use in elevated facilities where lower air density can affect cooling.
