Product Description:
The KEB 12.F4.C3D-4000 is a frequency inverter from the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series manufactured by KEB. As a mains-powered AC drive, it modulates voltage and frequency to control induction motor speed and torque in automated machinery, conveyors, and process equipment. This approach helps reduce mechanical stress during starts and allows smoother speed changes as process conditions shift. By integrating this unit, designers can match motor output to load demand, improve energy usage, and provide soft starting without mechanical contactors.
On the power side, the inverter delivers a maximum rated motor output of 4 kW, with an output nominal power of 6.6 kVA and an output nominal current of 9.5 A. During continuous operation, it draws a nominal input current of 10.5 A, yet it can withstand a short-time surge up to 17.1 A to cover acceleration peaks. The supply conductors connect through terminals sized for 2.5 mm² wiring, and upstream protection should use a fuse not exceeding 20 A. For control interfacing, the analog voltage input presents 56 kΩ of impedance, the analog current input is 250 Ω, and the digital inputs load the PLC with 4.4 kΩ. These values help support direct connection to standard 0–10 V, 0–20 mA, or 24 VDC control sources.
Overcurrent protection is coordinated internally, and the drive issues a trip when phase current reaches 20.9 A, which helps prevent semiconductor damage during faults. The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, so it must be mounted inside a clean cabinet to avoid dust or accidental contact. Embedded low-power supplies simplify field wiring, and the control board offers an internal I/O rail of 15 VDC at 100 mA for prox sensors, along with a regulated 10 VDC, 4 mA potentiometer reference for local speed setting. These interface and protection values support standard control wiring and cabinet installation.
