Product Description:
The 12.F4.C1D-3420 is a frequency inverter produced by KEB as part of the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Intended for industrial automation, the unit modulates the voltage and frequency supplied to an AC motor so that speed, torque, and energy use match process requirements. It fits inside machine panels where variable-speed control of induction motors is required, allowing PLCs to adjust acceleration, braking, and steady-state velocity through analog or fieldbus references.
On the line side, the inverter is designed for 400 V AC networks and draws power through a three-phase connection. Under nominal conditions, the converter handles 9.5 A of output current, corresponding to 6.6 kVA of apparent power for motors up to 4.0 kW. When started from cold, the line section can momentarily accept 10.5 A, while the inverter section can deliver 17.1 A for 30 seconds to help overcome high-inertia loads. The unit operates from standard 50/60 Hz utility power, and the control section is housed in an IP20 open-frame enclosure suitable for installation inside a protected cabinet.
For drive and process feedback, the control board provides a 5 mA analog output with 10-bit resolution and accepts potentiometer references from a 10 VDC supply rail. Digital setpoints are processed with a 15-bit position counter, and the opto-isolated inputs present 4.4 kΩ impedance to the control PLC. This arrangement supports analog monitoring and digital command handling from external automation hardware without requiring a separate interface module. The modulation stage generates up to 816 Hz output frequency, making it suitable for high-speed spindles and precision pumps. The housing remains compact, with overall dimensions of 130 x 290 x 200 mm, which helps the inverter fit into crowded control cabinets.
