The 10.F4.S3D-3420 is a three-phase AC frequency inverter produced by KEB in the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable voltage and frequency output that allows an induction motor to run at the speed demanded by a process. By using pulse-width-modulated switching and closed-loop scaling, the unit supports energy-efficient control of pumps, fans, and material-handling conveyors. An analog reference line and form-C status contacts allow the drive to integrate with simple PLC or relay logic schemes. This arrangement suits standalone speed-control tasks where hardwired control signals are preferred over networked communication.
On the supply side, the inverter accepts a three-phase input of 3 × 380…480 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Under nominal load, it draws 6.4 A, while the power stage delivers a continuous motor phase current of 5.8 A. Carrier modulation lets the output frequency sweep from 0…409 Hz, generating a phase-to-phase voltage between 0 V and the incoming line potential. A voltage analog setpoint input is internally scaled across this range, and a matching analog output tracks actual speed for external monitoring. With a 4.0 kVA nominal power rating, the inverter maintains thermal headroom when mounted in compact control enclosures. This control range helps the connected motor respond smoothly to changing process demand without mechanical throttling.

Line protection is handled by a 10 A gL/gG mains fuse, and the housing’s IP20 rating means the unit must be installed inside a closed panel. A relay contact rated 30 VDC at 1 A reports run or fault status, while the dedicated 0…10 VDC analog setpoint channel remains available for speed commands when no fieldbus is present.
