Product Description:
The 10.F4.FBD-4R05 frequency inverter is manufactured by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It is built for industrial automation tasks that require variable-speed control of three-phase induction motors. Its control stage adjusts motor voltage and frequency together so connected equipment can start smoothly and maintain stable operation as process demand changes. By converting fixed line voltage into a modulated output, the unit allows conveyors, pumps, and similar equipment to run at the torque and speed required by the application.
At its factory setting, the inverter switches the output transistors at 8 kHz, a carrier frequency that balances acoustic noise and switching losses. When tighter dynamic response is needed, the carrier can be increased up to 16 kHz. Under nominal conditions, it delivers 4 kVA of apparent power across 3 output phases, and the output current is 5.8 A. The input side draws 6.4 A, while short-time overloads are tolerated up to 10.4 A before the overcurrent trip level of 12.7 A is reached. Motor leads with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² are supported, and an inert gL fuse rated at 10 A may be fitted on the supply line. The climatic category 3K3 designation confirms suitability for control cabinets with moderated ambient conditions and up to 95% relative humidity.
For load sizing, the inverter can supply motors up to 2.2 kW, and its design limits internal losses to 130 W during continuous duty. Safe operation relies on keeping the heat sink below 79 °C, and integrated sensors initiate derating if this threshold is approached. The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, so mounting inside a ventilated control cabinet is required. This arrangement is suitable for enclosed installations where basic touch protection is needed and direct exposure to dust or water should be avoided.
