The 10.F4.C1D.3280 is an AC drive produced by KEB and assigned to the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. As a frequency inverter, it modulates the relationship between voltage and frequency so that squirrel-cage induction motors can accelerate, decelerate, and hold speed precisely under varying loads. Installed between the mains and the motor, the unit simplifies machine control by replacing mechanical throttling with electronic torque regulation, making it suitable for conveyors, mixers, and general-purpose motion axes in automated plants.
The power section is dimensioned for industrial low-voltage networks. It is fed from a three-phase supply and is rated for 230 V line-to-line voltage. Under nominal conditions, the inverter draws 11 A, converts the energy, and provides up to 4 kVA to the connected motor. Continuous load current on the output terminals is 10 A, regulated by pulse-width modulation at a carrier of 16 kHz; the high switching frequency minimizes audible noise and improves current waveform quality. These electrical limits determine cable sizing, drive thermal behavior, and the selection of upstream protective devices.
The integrated brake transistor channels excess energy into an external resistor network; with the specified motor capacity of 2.2 kW, the braking circuit limits deceleration currents while preventing DC-bus overvoltage. For short-duration events, the drive can handle 18 A and will trip only if instantaneous current reaches 22 A or if the braking resistor falls below 28 Ω. Steady power dissipation inside the enclosure is 135 W, conducted to an aluminum heat sink whose permitted surface temperature peaks at 85 °C. Matching the thermal load with adequate airflow and observing the 20 A mains fuse rating ensure reliable operation without nuisance shutdowns.
