Product Description:
The 10.F4.S8D-1220 is a frequency inverter produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. The unit conditions single-phase AC power and provides adjustable frequency and voltage to an asynchronous motor, enabling precise speed regulation in automated machinery such as small conveyors, fans, and dosing equipment. Its input topology uses one phase, and the line connection terminals accommodate that arrangement.
The inverter has a nominal output current of 10 A, indicating the continuous current that the drive can deliver at its output terminals. It provides an apparent output power of 4 kVA and supports a rated motor power of 2.2 kW. The inverter accepts a single-phase supply ranging from 180 to 260 V, which is compatible with its 230 V class insulation and eliminates the need for a step-up transformer. The rated operating point uses a switching frequency of 4 kHz in Standard control mode. The fieldbus option also uses the standard configuration for basic speed references. Overcurrent shutdown occurs at 22 A, while short-term acceleration current is limited to 18 A to protect the power components. The compact D-size housing transfers heat to an integral heat sink. Its built-in high-frequency filter handles 30 A of common-mode current and dissipates 17.6 W.
The gate transistors can switch at 16 kHz, and operation at this carrier frequency raises converter losses to 135 W, which must be removed through forced ventilation. The heat sink can reach 85 °C without derating when the ambient temperature remains between -10 °C and 45 °C and relative humidity stays below 95% without condensation. An IP20 enclosure helps prevent accidental contact with live parts when the inverter is installed inside a control cabinet. Adequate cabinet airflow is required to carry heat away from the integral heat sink and maintain the permitted operating temperature.
