Product Description:
KEB developed the 10.F4.CRD-3460 as part of its F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. The device is a voltage-source pulse-width-modulated frequency inverter that links the mains supply to an asynchronous or synchronous motor. By adjusting output frequency and voltage, the inverter regulates speed, torque, and direction in automated conveyors, pumps, and packaging equipment, providing process control without mechanical gear changes while remaining compatible with common industrial power systems. This approach allows one drive system to support smooth starting, controlled running speed, and deceleration within the same installation.
A three-phase input aligns with the drive’s 400 V voltage class, and the rectifier draws a rated current of 6.4 A. After conversion, the inverter section supplies 5.8 A of fundamental current to the motor windings, yielding 4 kVA of continuous apparent power at full load. A carrier frequency of 12 kHz helps reduce torque ripple and audible noise in open industrial areas. Internal control logic resides on the Compact control card, and the unit uses housing size D so cabinet layouts can stay uniform across the range. Compliance with EMC standard EN 61800-3 limits conducted and radiated emissions, and the inverter is suitable for environments in climatic category 3K3.
The inverter can drive machines up to 2.2 kW and can deliver a short-time surge of 10.4 A when rapid acceleration is required. Thermal management remains within the rated profile because the heat sink may reach 85 °C without loss of function, provided airflow is unobstructed and relative humidity does not exceed 95%. Protection class IP20 indicates finger-safe openings, so the unit should be mounted inside a control panel. Installation sites may be located as high as 2000 m above sea level without derating. This overload capability is useful where the driven load has brief starting peaks or short changes in process demand.
