Product Description:
The 09.F4.S5D-4000 is a frequency inverter produced by KEB within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Intended for industrial automation, it adjusts the speed of asynchronous motors by regulating supply frequency and voltage. The unit serves as a compact interface between the plant mains and motion equipment, giving programmable acceleration, deceleration, and overload handling. It is used in packaging machines, light conveyors, and ventilation systems that rely on continuous speed variation.
The inverter supports a maximum motor rating of 1.5 kW, providing adequate power for small-to-medium mechanical loads. At its output, it can deliver 2.8 kVA of apparent power, allowing the connected drive to draw both active and reactive current without derating. An IGBT power circuit performs high-frequency switching for precise voltage synthesis, while an integrated fan moves air across the heat sink to maintain semiconductor temperature. The enclosure is rated IP20, so the electronics are finger-safe but must remain inside a closed cabinet. The control class is Standard, and housing type D sets the mechanical footprint. Built-in current sensors enforce instantaneous trip limits, and the design is conditionally short-circuit-proof when the fuses and wiring meet KEB guidelines.
The unit is rated for 3K3 operating conditions, indicating use in clean indoor areas with controlled humidity and temperature swings. The drive is intended for three-phase AC motors, and braking energy is handled internally through a resistor and an included brake transistor, removing the need for external hardware in moderate deceleration cycles. A factory-installed RFI filter lowers conducted emissions for EMC compliance. Earth-fault protection is conditional and requires proper grounding of the motor frame. Fast overcurrent response is ensured by hardware current control, permitting stable torque regulation during rapid speed changes.
