Product Description:
The 09.F4.S1D-M220 is a variable-speed drive from KEB and belongs to the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. As a frequency inverter, it modulates three-phase output voltage and frequency so that induction or synchronous motors can follow precise speed commands in automated lines, conveyors, or pump stations. This supports repeatable speed control when process demand changes during normal machine operation. The unit follows the EN 61800-3 emission and immunity limits, which helps it operate alongside surrounding control hardware.
An integrated braking transistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. This can remove the need for an external chopper in many installations. The inverter delivers a continuous output of 2.8 kVA and a steady-state line current of 7 A, and these figures indicate the thermal load that can be applied without derating. For short acceleration bursts, the power stage can supply 12.6 A, while motor ratings up to 1.5 kW are supported under nominal conditions. Overcurrent protection trips at 15 A to shield the power section from fault energy. Control wiring is powered by a 15 VDC, 100 mA source so proximity switches or optocouplers can be driven directly, and status feedback is available through a form-C relay rated 30 VDC at 1 A.
The drive has an IP20 enclosure rating, making it suitable for mounting inside ventilated control panels where accidental finger contact must be prevented. Thermal management allows a heat-sink surface temperature up to 85 °C, and operation remains stable in ambient humidity as high as 95 % without condensation. Installations are permitted at elevations up to 2000 m above sea level before output derating becomes necessary. For analog speed reference, a 10 VDC, 4 mA setpoint source is provided so potentiometers or closed-loop controllers can feed the inverter directly.
