Product Description:
The 09.F4.F8D-5000 is a compact AC frequency inverter manufactured by KEB and supplied within the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. As a variable-speed drive, the unit modulates the voltage and frequency delivered to a three-phase induction motor. This allows conveyor sections, pumps, or fan stages to match the required load profile in an automation cell. By varying output instead of running the motor only at line frequency, the inverter supports smoother process changes and more controlled acceleration.
For continuous operation the drive is rated for a nominal apparent power of 2.8 kVA, while the connected motor may draw up to 1.5 kW of mechanical output, giving a clear sizing limit for machine builders. It accepts a supply network with a fundamental frequency of 50/60 Hz, allowing integration on either European or North American mains without transformer adjustment. The enclosure meets IP20, so live parts must be installed in a control cabinet, while the housing still provides protection against finger contact and vertical drips. Closed-loop control uses an internal encoder interface that enables speed commands to be resolved in increments of just 0.5 rpm, which benefits indexing tables and dosing screws that demand fine velocity steps. That fine adjustment is useful when repeatable low-speed motion is required during feeding or metering tasks.
Copper conductors connected to the inverter may have a maximum cross-section of 1.5 mm², simplifying wiring with standard control cabinet terminals. Environmental endurance corresponds to climatic category 3K3, meaning the electronics tolerate moderate humidity and a 5 °C to 40 °C ambient commonly found on production floors. Electromagnetic compatibility is handled through filters and a switching pattern that meets EN 61800-3, so the unit can share panels with sensitive PLC or sensor lines. This combination supports compact cabinet installations where power equipment and low-level control wiring are located close together.
