Product Description:
KEB manufactures the 09.F4.C8D-1220 as part of its F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. The drive is delivered in a compact D-size housing and uses a compact control mode that limits setup to the parameters needed for straightforward speed regulation. As a frequency inverter, it converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output so asynchronous motors in automated conveyors, mixers, or small machine axes can follow programmed speed profiles with minimal mechanical adjustment.
Electrical integration starts with a single-phase supply. The input can span 180 to 260 V, a range that matches the 230 V class and allows connection to light industrial or commercial networks without a transformer. Internal power devices switch the line voltage at a carrier frequency of 4 kHz before reconstructing the sinusoidal motor voltage. The inverter is rated for 7 A of continuous output current, which establishes the thermal limit of its semiconductor stage and affects the maximum torque available from the connected motor at low speed. An enclosure rating of IP20 requires the unit to be mounted inside a protective cabinet while allowing access to the terminals when the cabinet is open. The embedded standard fieldbus channel provides basic start, stop, and setpoint commands to a PLC without requiring an additional option card.
The inverter can deliver 2.8 kVA of apparent power, allowing it to run motors up to 1.5 kW while keeping line current within typical single-phase branch ratings. Thermal endurance is matched to an ambient operating range of -10 to 45 °C; within that range, the heat sink keeps semiconductor junction temperatures below their design limit. Operation is unaffected by ambient moisture as long as relative humidity remains below 95% without condensation, a condition commonly maintained in enclosed control panels. Adequate cabinet ventilation should be provided so heat can leave the inverter and surrounding components during continuous operation. The compact housing reduces installation depth in panels used for small automation systems, while the variable-frequency output provides stable speed regulation across the connected motor’s operating range.
