Product Description:
The 07.F4.S3D-3420 is a COMBIVERT F4 frequency inverter manufactured by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. By modulating its output voltage and frequency, the unit enables closed-loop speed regulation of small AC induction motors used in packaging lines, conveyors, and auxiliary machine axes within industrial automation cells. Its compact D-size footprint simplifies retrofits where panel space is limited while still providing the functions expected from the platform. The inverter can regulate motor operation in applications that require controlled acceleration, deceleration, and steady running speeds.
Its electrical interface starts with a three-phase mains connection that accepts 305–500 V without derating. From this supply, the drive furnishes up to 0.75 kW of mechanical shaft power through a nominal motor current of 2.6 A and an apparent output rating of 1.8 kVA. Pulse-width modulation operates at a carrier frequency of 4 kHz, balancing acoustic performance and switching losses. Both the control mode and fieldbus option are designated as Standard, making the inverter suitable for standalone applications or simple I/O chaining. In this configuration, parameter adjustment relies on basic digital and analog I/O signals. The integrated filter helps reduce conducted electrical interference, while the braking transistor controls energy dissipation through a compatible braking circuit during motor deceleration.
The enclosure has an IP20 rating, which provides protection against accidental contact with internal electrical parts but does not protect against water. The permitted operating temperature ranges from -10 to 45 °C, and relative humidity can reach 95% without condensation. As part of the 400 V Class, the drive is intended for standard low-voltage distribution systems used in European and North American facilities. The inverter is designed for installation inside a ventilated control cabinet that provides suitable protection from moisture and airborne contamination. Adequate cabinet airflow helps maintain thermal stability when the unit is mounted near other automation components. Installation spacing should also allow generated heat to leave the inverter without exposing nearby equipment to excessive temperatures.
