The 05.F4.S1D-4A01 frequency inverter manufactured by KEB belongs to the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It modulates the frequency and voltage supplied to an AC motor so that speed, torque, and energy consumption match the demands of automated machinery. Acting as the interface between line power and the motor, the unit provides closed-loop regulation for conveyors, pumps, and material-handling axes that rely on accurate speed control.
It is equipped with a braking transistor, so regenerative energy produced during deceleration can be dissipated through an external resistor instead of returning to the mains. The control section follows a standard control configuration, which uses the familiar parameter set and I/O found across the series. Internal components are cooled in a vertical airflow path that relies on the natural chimney effect when the unit is mounted upright. Mechanical protection is provided by the D housing, which sets the enclosure dimensions and terminal positions. Continuous operation is permitted within ambient limits of -10 to +45 °C, and outside this range the inverter must be derated or powered down. For nonoperational periods, it can be stored between -25 and 70 °C without affecting component life.
Cabinet layout must keep air passages open so the cooling path remains unobstructed during operation. A minimum bottom clearance of 100 mm is required so that cool air can enter the heat sink channel, while at least 30 mm must be maintained on each side to avoid blocking lateral vent slots. Upward flow carries heat toward the exhaust zone, which is why the design calls for a free space of 150 mm above the unit. This model is delivered in the customer-specific version, which indicates that the unit was configured for application requirements beyond the standard version.
