Product Description:
The 05.F4.S0C-1220 is a frequency inverter produced by KEB and assigned to the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. It is intended for speed control of fractional-kilowatt induction motors in compact machines, conveyors, or fans where single-phase mains are available. By modulating output frequency and voltage, the unit allows open-loop or closed-loop regulation of motor torque while coordinating with upstream control systems through its onboard digital and analog interfaces.
The drive accepts a single-phase supply of 1 × 230 VAC at 50/60 Hz, simplifying installation on standard distribution circuits. Inside, a DC link feeds an inverter stage that can deliver a continuous motor current of 2.3 A, appropriate for machines drawing up to 0.37 kW of mechanical power. Apparent power is limited to 0.9 kVA, so upstream breakers and cabling can be sized accordingly. An enclosure rated at IP20 offers finger-safe protection when the unit is mounted in a control cabinet. Auxiliary resources include a 15 VDC digital I/O rail for sensors, a 10 VDC potentiometer reference for manual speed setting, and a relay contact that switches 30 VDC at 1 A for drive-ready or fault signaling.
Switching events are modulated up to 8 kHz, letting the motor run with reduced audible noise while keeping transistor heating within limits; static losses amount to 35 W under rated load. Supply protection is achieved with a line fuse not exceeding 10 A, guarding the rectifier against short circuits. The inverter maintains full output up to 2000 m above sea level and at ambient humidity levels reaching 95% without condensation. Overall dimensions of 90 × 230 × 115 mm permit dense panel layouts, and the device weighs only 1.5 kg, easing DIN-rail or backplate mounting. During continuous duty, the selected carrier frequency, installation altitude, and available cooling must remain within the stated limits to avoid thermal derating.
