The 00.F4.010-8019 interface module is produced by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. The module acts as a fieldbus gateway that links an inverter drive to an InterBus control network, allowing the drive to exchange status words and command words directly with a PLC or other supervisory device. Within an automation cell it occupies the operator housing slot of the inverter and is intended to simplify remote diagnostics, parameterization, and real-time speed or torque adjustments.
During operation the module draws a maximum input current of 40 mA max., so its load on the common bus supply is minimal. That supply is presented at 28.5 V, delivered from the inverter’s loop bus terminals, eliminating the need for an external power source. Communications occur through the InterBus protocol; telegrams are handled in compliance with the loop topology and shielding rules defined in VDE 0160, which governs safe isolation distances and transient withstand levels. For bus masters the module reports a unique identification value, the 179 module-ident code, enabling automatic configuration within a distributed station list.
The gateway clips onto the inverter backplane using a Clip-On mounting style and fits in the designated KEB Operator Housing. It forms part of a LOOP2 network segment, and its register map comprises 2 Words IN + 2 Words OUT, allowing the controller to transmit commands while receiving feedback without extending the cycle time. Power and data arrive through the Loop Bus Terminal, with galvanic separation maintained by safe isolation to the inverter section. A single diagnostic LED indicates bus status, and the four-terminal interface accommodates incoming and outgoing shielded pairs as required by the topology.
