The 00.F4.010-7009 communication module belongs to the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series manufactured by KEB. The interface operates on the multi-drop fieldbus based on RS485, and it accepts the three character-oriented protocols ANSI X3.28 Cat. 2.5 A2 A4, DIN 66019, and ISO 1745. Each slave begins with a factory-set node address that can be reassigned through parameter programming to avoid conflicts on complex bus segments. The serial data rate is set to 9600 baud at startup, providing a balance between noise immunity and update rate, and higher speeds are possible when all devices on the line share the same timing. Because the board supports half-duplex transmission, the transmit and receive lines are biased internally to maintain a defined idle state, while forward error detection is handled by protocol-specific checksum routines. RS-232 is not supported, which avoids single-ended wiring runs that are more susceptible to electromagnetic interference.
The watchdog timer is disabled by default, with the state shown as Off, so the drive will not shut down until periodic polling is enabled in the host application. A dedicated service pin supplies +5 V at up to 10 mA, which is intended for an optically isolated transceiver or a local termination network. Pin assignment follows the KEB bus standard, and after power-up the board listens on the receive line at address 1 so host software can detect the device without manual jumper settings.
