Product Description:
The 00.F4.010-6019 communication module is produced by KEB for the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Installed on the control board of an inverter, it adds a dedicated fieldbus interface so the drive can be managed directly from a programmable logic controller instead of local analog lines. By exchanging setpoints, feedback, and alarms digitally, the device supports coordinated speed control, energy monitoring, and diagnostic logging in automated production cells.
The module uses the PROFIBUS-DP protocol, so telegram timing and address handling follow the profile for drive equipment. Within a network, it behaves as a DP-Slave, meaning it responds to cyclic queries from the central master without initiating traffic itself. Communication takes place on twisted pairs driven by the differential signaling of RS485; this physical layer supports cable runs up to 1,200 m when termination is applied correctly. The electronic design is rated for a maximum bus speed of 1500 kbit/s, providing bandwidth for parameter transfers and real-time control words. Drive-specific identification is fixed at 0x04A2, allowing masters to recognize the option automatically during network startup.
Nine-pin D-sub connectors simplify wiring, and the fieldbus signals are routed through 9 contacts that match standard PROFIBUS pinouts. Each cyclic exchange can carry application data blocks up to 12 bytes, while the inverter returns dedicated diagnostic information in a separate block of 6 bytes to flag faults or warning states. Galvanic separation between the bus and power electronics meets the requirements of VDE 0160, reducing the chance of ground currents. Reliable operation is specified from 0 °C up to the 40 °C ambient limit and at relative humidity levels as high as 95% without condensation. For storage or transport, the board tolerates temperatures from -25 °C to 70 °C, so spare parts can be kept in unconditioned warehouses without damage.
