Product Description:
The 00.F4.010-6018 is a communication option produced by KEB for drives in the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Mounted inside the inverter, it creates a serial interface that lets the drive exchange setpoints, status words, and fault codes with a supervisory PLC. By adding this module, a standalone frequency inverter can be integrated into distributed control lines typical of conveying, packaging, or processing equipment without separate gateway devices, enabling centralized parameter handling and coordinated motion or speed regulation.
Data transfer is handled through the Profibus-DP fieldbus, which organizes devices in a master-slave cycle for predictable scan times. Each board can be given any node number within the range of 0 to 239, so multiple inverters can be added to the same network without address conflicts. At power-up, the module starts with the default address of 1, allowing immediate identification on the bus. Transmission speed is selectable, and the board supports 1200/2400/4800/9600/19200/38400/57600 baud so cable length, noise immunity, and controller performance can be balanced. At startup, the link is factory-set to 9600 baud, which matches many standard Profibus analyzers and supports straightforward bus verification before higher rates are selected.
Service access is provided via a front-mounted 9-pole Sub-D socket, so external test or diagnostic devices can be connected without rewiring. Physically, the card mates only with inverters that use the D-E and G-L enclosure frames, ensuring correct standoff height and airflow once installed. Operational security is enhanced by an adjustable watchdog, and the timer window can be set from 0 to 10.00 s in increments of 0.01 s. This allows the fault reaction time to be matched closely to the dynamics of the connected machine.
