The 00.F4.010-1009 is a frequency inverter produced by KEB as part of the F4 Combivert Frequency Inverters series. Designed for cabinet mounting, this drive converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable output so motor speed can match process demand. In industrial automation cells, it supplies adjustable voltage and frequency to standard induction motors for energy-efficient control of conveyors, pumps, and machine tool spindles. It also provides built-in serial supervision and local keypad access.
The unit communicates through an RS232/RS485 port, so it can exchange parameters with a standalone PC or participate in multi-node fieldbus loops. Signal integrity is supported because the link is isolated, separating control electronics from motor power grounds. A D-sub connector assigns dedicated lines: pins 2 and 3 carry the RS232 transmit and receive channels, pins 4 and 5 accept the RS485 differential input, and pins 8 and 9 deliver the RS485 differential output. Auxiliary connections include pin 6 (VP), which sources +5 V at up to 10 mA for external converters, pin 7 (DGND) for logic reference, and the PE terminal for protective earth. Operating data appear on the front-mounted 5-digit LED panel, giving immediate numerical feedback during setup and tuning.
The local operator controls are organized around a double-function key set that alternates between parameter navigation and value entry without expanding the panel footprint. Visual status is conveyed by three indicators. The drive runs normally when the green LED is on, error conditions trigger the red lamp so it blinks, and ongoing transmitter activity is shown as the amber LED flickers. All signals, power, and communications reach the board through a single 9-pin connector, which keeps the wiring scheme organized for data, supply, and protective earth.
