Product Description:
The 15.F1.R30-4A09 is a frequency converter manufactured by KEB as part of the F1 Combivert Frequency Converters series. This unit receives fixed-frequency three-phase mains power and delivers a variable-frequency output that allows motor speed to match process demands. By providing closed-loop control and an integrated braking path, it supports stable deceleration and helps protect mechanical components during routine stops in conveyors, pumps, and general automation.
The drive supplies a continuous output of 24.0 A and can deliver up to 17.0 kVA of apparent power to downstream motors. Its silicon switching stage permits carrier frequencies as high as 16 kHz, which reduces audible noise and improves torque regulation at low speeds. A built-in braking transistor controls the dissipation of regenerated energy, while an internal interference filter limits conducted emissions so that no external line filter is required. For circuit protection, the recommended maximum mains fuse is 35 A. The terminal block accommodates conductors up to 6 mm², and the control card draws no more than 250 mA from the auxiliary supply. When paired with a squirrel-cage motor, the inverter can operate a motor rated at up to 11.0 kW. Sensor inputs include an 8 V open-circuit source for motor thermistors, supporting reliable temperature detection.
Thermal protection relies on a PTC chain whose trip point is 1500 Ω; the converter trips as resistance rises to this threshold. Normal operation can resume after the resistance falls below 460 Ω and the voltage returns toward the 2.5 V reset level. A trip voltage of 4.7 V aligns the converter with common DIN thermistor curves, while the maximum chain resistance of 400 Ω supports long sensor runs without causing false alarms. The enclosure meets the IP20 protection class, which guards against contact with hazardous internal parts and the entry of objects larger than the applicable size limit. Because the enclosure does not protect against water, the converter is intended for installation inside a suitable cabinet.
