Product Description:
The 15.F1.R30-4009 frequency converter is produced by KEB within the F1 Combivert Frequency Converters series. The unit modulates the voltage and frequency supplied to three-phase induction motors so that speed and torque match process demands in automated machinery, material-handling lines, and HVAC drives. An integrated gate-turn-off power module and control logic allow the converter to sit between the utility mains and the motor. Its narrow cabinet format supports installation in centralized drive cabinets where multiple axes or process motors share one enclosure. By varying output frequency in response to control commands, it helps maintain stable motor operation during starting, speed changes, and load transitions.
The power stage is based on the GTR7 module and includes a built-in braking transistor that channels surplus energy to an external resistor during rapid deceleration. A factory-installed internal EMI filter limits conducted noise so the converter can share switchgear with less interference. It is designed for 3-phase inputs and can pulse the output at carrier frequencies up to 16 kHz, which can reduce audible motor noise at low speeds. Under nominal conditions, the inverter delivers a continuous apparent power of 17.0 kVA and a thermal current of 24.0 A. Line insulation is maintained up to 300 V to earth, and switching losses at the maximum carrier setting reach 850 W.
The drive remains fully rated up to 3000 m above sea level and can control motors with outputs up to 11.0 kW without derating. Its metal housing carries an IP20 rating, which provides finger-safe terminals while still requiring the surrounding cabinet to supply additional protection against dust and water. Transport and mounting are supported by a mass of 27 kg. The installation uses a 35 A mains fuse, permits a maximum relative humidity of 90 percent, and accepts power terminals sized for 6 mm² conductors. This layout supports straightforward connection of incoming power and motor leads in compact industrial panels.
