The 25.E4.T60-1001 electromagnetic compatibility filter is produced by KEB within the Combiline EMC Filters series. Intended for installation on the line side of a variable-frequency drive, the filter suppresses high-frequency noise and prevents conducted emissions from returning to the plant mains. By matching the impedance of three-phase industrial networks, it protects nearby control electronics and allows the connected inverter-motor system to meet statutory electromagnetic interference limits.
The filter handles a continuous rated current of 250 A, allowing it to sit on the supply side of medium-power inverters. Disturbance attenuation spans 0.15–30 MHz, a bandwidth that covers the dominant switching harmonics produced by drives running at 2–16 kHz carrier frequencies. Mains terminals accept up to 3 × 480 V (+10%), so the device tolerates common plant voltage fluctuations. It is tuned for line frequencies of 50 / 60 Hz ±2 %, ensuring negligible insertion loss at fundamental power frequency. Each phase presents a DC resistance of only 0.44 mΩ, which minimizes additional voltage drop. Leakage current to protective earth during normal operation is 55 mA, and the design keeps worst-case leakage below 350 mA to satisfy safety relays. A high-voltage test of 2100/2700 Vdc verifies insulation integrity.
Connection is made through three 70 mm² (AWG 2/0) conductors, clamped to busbars that may be tightened to 37 Nm, and the PE lead terminates on an M10 stay bolt to maintain low impedance to ground. The maximum ambient temperature is 45 °C, and continuous power dissipation is 50 W, so adequate cabinet ventilation is required. The filter supports motor-cable lengths up to 30 m without compromising attenuation, and the steel housing weighs 16 kg, which assists vibration damping once it is secured.
