Product Description:
The 18.E5.T60-1002 is a three-phase electromagnetic compatibility filter produced by KEB as part of the Combiline EMC Filters series. In automation systems, it is placed between a variable-frequency drive and the line supply to reduce conducted radio-frequency noise and keep the complete installation within industrial emission limits. By shunting switching-related interference back to the source, the unit helps protect nearby sensors, PLCs, and communication hardware from malfunctions during drive operation.
The filter handles input up to 3 × 480 V AC (+10%) at 50/60 Hz and provides a continuous load capability of 65 A. Its internal L-C network attenuates disturbances across the 0.15–30 MHz spectrum, a range matched to inverter carrier frequencies from 2 kHz to 16 kHz. Series copper windings exhibit only 0.003 Ω/phase of DC resistance, so added voltage drop and heat remain low. A leakage current of 36 mA flows through the protective earth conductor during normal operation, which must be considered when selecting residual-current devices. Dielectric strength is verified by 800 Vdc phase-to-phase and 2700 Vdc phase-to-ground tests, and the design maintains compliance when motor cables up to 30 m long are used.
The unit dissipates up to 20 W under full load and must be mounted where air can circulate within a maximum ambient temperature of 45 °C. Line and earth leads connect to screw terminals sized for AWG 4 / 25 mm² conductors, providing secure clamping for the designated current class. The steel enclosure weighs 5.1 kg, allowing rigid panel mounting close to the drive to keep parasitic inductance low. Short routing between the filter and drive also helps preserve attenuation performance at higher frequencies. Overall leakage is limited to 120 mA across the three phases and protective earth, and the topology uses a 3-phase plus PE configuration.
