Product Description:
The 16.E5.T60-1001 is an electromagnetic compatibility line filter manufactured by KEB for the Combiline EMC Filters series. Installed between a variable-frequency drive and the plant power network, it attenuates high-frequency disturbances produced by switching inverters and helps prevent those disturbances from propagating to other automation equipment. By reducing conducted emissions, the unit helps protect analog sensors, fieldbus links, and safety relays that share the same enclosure. This type of filter is commonly used where multiple electronic devices operate from the same supply and stable signal quality is important for dependable machine operation.
The filter is rated for a continuous load of 43 A, permitting its use with medium-power inverters without additional derating. It accepts phase-to-phase voltages up to 528 V AC and terminates with 10 mm² conductors that match the current rating while minimizing temperature rise at the connection points. A very low DC resistance of 0.010 Ω per phase limits internal losses, keeping total heat generation below the specified 30 W at full current. Leakage current remains limited to 10 mA, allowing the filter to operate behind sensitive ground-fault interrupters. Attenuation performance falls under the stringent C1 emission category, which is suited to residential and light-industrial environments. The enclosure layout also supports straightforward placement inside a control cabinet where supply wiring and drive input wiring must be kept orderly and compact.
Conformity with the immunity and emission requirements of EN 61800-3 is demonstrated through dielectric tests: the windings withstand 2700 V DC between phase and protective earth and 800 V DC between phases without insulation breakdown. The design maintains its filtering behavior over motor leads as long as the installed cable does not exceed 30 m. Continuous operation is permitted in ambient temperatures up to 45 °C, aided by a ventilated steel housing that measures 132 mm in width, 50 mm in depth, and 352 mm in height. With a mass of 2.5 kg, the unit mounts easily on a backplate or DIN rail inside standard control cabinets. The steel housing also helps protect the internal components from incidental contact during installation and normal cabinet service access.
