The 15.E5.T60-10G1 is an electromagnetic compatibility filter manufactured by KEB for the Combiline EMC Filters series. Installed between a PWM inverter and a three-phase motor, the device suppresses conducted noise on drive cables and helps protect adjacent control circuits from high-frequency interference. By shaping the current waveform, it reduces bearing currents and limits differential-mode stress on motor insulation. It also mitigates voltage spikes generated by the drive’s fast IGBT switching, which helps protect downstream insulation and reduce common-mode currents in connected sensors. This type of placement is useful where motor cables run near signal wiring, because it helps keep switching noise from spreading through the cabinet and along the machine frame.
This model accepts an input current of 30 A, and on the motor side it can pass 24 A, matching drives up to 11 kW. The copper and ferrite network imposes a drop of 26 V and dissipates 21 W at rated load. Leakage to earth is held to 80 mA, so residual-current devices must be sized accordingly. The unit meets the C1 interference grade, allowing use on lines that feed sensitive instrumentation. It is intended to reduce the electrical side effects of fast inverter switching while still allowing normal motor operation. With an allowable voltage rise of 500 V/µs and a switching-frequency limit of 4 kHz, it preserves pulse fidelity while suppressing high-frequency harmonics.
Continuous service is permitted up to 45 °C, and above that point the current and power must be derated. The housing provides IP20 protection, so the filter should be mounted inside a cabinet away from dripping liquids and accidental contact. The design supports motor leads up to 50 m and carrier frequencies up to 400 Hz, which helps it fit a wide range of inverter-driven motor layouts. The remaining installation points are straightforward, because the terminals accept conductors up to 10 mm² and require 1.8 Nm of tightening torque. Its 6.5 kg mass also calls for a rigid mounting plate so vibration does not loosen the assembly during operation.
