The 12.E5.T60-1001 belongs to the Combiline EMC Filters series manufactured by KEB. As a line-side electromagnetic compatibility filter, it is installed ahead of frequency converters and other switching power electronics to limit conducted emissions and help industrial automation panels meet EN 55011 Class A limits. The device filters a three-phase supply with a protective earth connection, providing differential-mode and common-mode attenuation without altering the normal power waveform.
Each phase presents a very low series resistance of 0.012 Ω, so the filter introduces minimal voltage drop even when its full load of 16 A is flowing at the rated thermal limit. Internal inductors and capacitors dissipate up to 11.5 W at this current, which must be considered when determining enclosure ventilation requirements. The design passes utility frequencies of 50/60 Hz and maintains proper operation within a frequency tolerance of ±2 Hz. A supply of up to 3 × 480 V (+10%) can be applied continuously, matching the typical output range of industrial transformers. Connections accept solid or stranded conductors with a cross-sectional area of 4 mm² (AWG 10). The internal layout supports the unit’s 3 + PE topology.
Phase-to-earth leakage current is limited to 117 mA under worst-case conditions, while leakage current during normal operation is 20 mA; these values should be considered when selecting a residual-current device. The insulation test voltages are 2700 VDC from phase to earth and 800 VDC from phase to phase. These voltage levels correspond to the clearance and creepage distances within the enclosure. The filter can be mounted in cabinets where the ambient temperature does not exceed 45 °C, and continuous service at that limit is supported by its 1.3 kg steel housing. Its weight and size permit installation close to the drives, which minimizes conductor length and helps preserve attenuation performance.
