The 19.C5.B00-1000 programmable controller is produced by KEB as part of the C5 Combicontrol Units series. It acts as a compact automation head station that executes motion sequences for up to eight integrated servo axes while coordinating digital field signals. By combining a processor, memory, and communication interfaces in a DIN-rail package, the device replaces separate PLC and motion cards in conveyor, packaging, and material-handling cells. An SD/MMC slot supports recipe and program-file transfers. The built-in Ethernet port enables communication with higher-level SCADA systems or drive networks.
At the core of the unit is a Renesas SH2-A 32-bit CPU that runs deterministic control loops. Program instructions reside in a dual bank of 2 × 8 MB of code memory. Variable data are buffered in 12 MB of battery-backed RAM, providing nonvolatile retention during power interruptions. An additional 4 MB of flash memory stores system parameters and startup data. When the high-speed profile HSP5 is enabled, the controller completes a full scan within 1 ms. This scan includes logic processing, motion interpolation, and network updates, allowing synchronized positioning across coordinated axes.
Eight optically isolated inputs capture sensor states, while eight transistor outputs switch external devices. Optical isolation separates the field wiring from the internal control logic and limits the transfer of electrical disturbances. Each output can source up to 0.7 A per channel, allowing direct actuation of compatible contactors or indicator lamps without intermediate relays. The outputs use a 24 V transistor stage for connections to common industrial control devices. The housing measures 144 × 182 × 76 mm and clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail for installation inside a control cabinet. Its IP20 protection class makes the controller suitable for a ventilated enclosure that prevents direct contact with internal components. The unit weighs 0.6 kg, minimizing the mechanical load placed on the mounting rail.
