The 176F1470 power card is manufactured by Danfoss for integration into the VLT PowerCards series of variable-frequency drive hardware. Housed inside a VLT inverter stack, the board forms the main power stage that routes DC-bus power through insulated-gate bipolar transistors and associated sensors, allowing the drive to modulate three-phase output for induction or permanent-magnet motors. The card supports regulated torque, speed control, and protective shutdown functions in automated HVAC systems, water-treatment facilities, and general process equipment.
The assembly is supplied in the ST/HVAC/Aqua Revised variant, indicating that its component spacing and board configuration suit later-generation fan, pump, and water-system drive platforms. Mechanical retention relies on a steel angle bracket secured with a T28 Torx bit, and the bracket screws require a bus-bar preload of 3 N·m to maintain a low-resistance electrical connection. A separate control card is anchored with a T20 Torx fastener group that uses lighter torque levels, while each IGBT pair is clamped to the heat sink at 4 N·m for uniform thermal transfer without excessive stress on the semiconductor package.
Two flat-flex leads connect to the backplane through two control ribbon connectors, providing compact signal paths between the power card and the surrounding drive electronics. The DC link connects through a keyed 3-pin Molex receptacle, whose keyed shape helps prevent incorrect polarity during installation. Relay feedback for upstream controllers is supplied by a status contact rated at 240 VAC and 2 A. Its Form C switching arrangement provides both normally open and normally closed paths for run or fault indications, allowing the connected controller to monitor either contact state. An MK7 fan socket supports the cooling connection, while dedicated locknut points for the mounting studs secure the board within the drive enclosure and preserve the required spacing around energized conductors.
