132F0058 is a compact AC drive. This high power drive has a typical output of 11 kilowatts. It can be used for motor control in general-purpose applications. Danfoss has designed the drive unit with environmental protection in mind and made it RoHS compliant. A brake chopper integrated into the unit provides protection from excess energy generated during braking by diverting it into a braking resistor for dissipation as heat. As a local control panel is not available, operators can configure the drive using PC based software that communicates with the unit over an RS-485 serial link. Danfoss provides the MCT-10 software for this purpose. This software can be downloaded from the manufacturer website or ordered on CD-ROM. Wiring used for drive installation must comply with relevant local and national electrical codes.
Danfoss recommends using copper conductors rated for 60 to 75 ⁰C. Fuses can be used for branch circuit protection, and overall short-circuit protection for protection against overheating. Temperature of the drive heat sink is monitored by onboard processors which are programmed to trip in the drive in case of overtemperature events. Short circuits on motor circuits will not damage the drive. Missing motor phases or mains phases cause drive tripping. The drive controls connected motors by varying amplitude and frequency of the AC output. Its controlled double-conversion allows it to deliver 0 to 100% amplitude of voltage supply. The output frequency range depends on control method: it is 0 to 200 Hertz of VVC+ and 0 to 400 Hertz for u/f. Cable length limits depend on the type of cable used: it is 15 meters for armored/screened cables and 50 meters for unarmored/unscreened cables.
