The 131L9800 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 101 HVAC Basic Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a modulated output for regulating centrifugal fans, pumps, and other induction motor loads commonly found in building ventilation systems. By varying motor speed instead of relying on mechanical throttling, the unit provides tighter control over airflow and fluid circulation while reducing energy consumption in industrial and commercial HVAC installations.
The drive provides a continuous motor current of 42 A, while short-term load peaks can reach 46.2 A. The inverter delivers a rated shaft power of 11 kW, making it suitable for midsize air-handling equipment and pumping systems. Its conversion efficiency is 97.1%, which limits power loss to 386 W of heat during nominal operation. The drive uses a three-phase mains connection and does not include an internal brake chopper because HVAC fans generally do not require rapid dynamic braking.
