Product Description:
The 131L9797 is an AC drive from Danfoss that belongs to the VLT FC 101 HVAC Basic Drives series. Within building automation, this VLT HVAC drive regulates the speed of induction motors in air-handling units, pumps, and compressors so that airflow and fluid movement match real-time load demands. By adjusting motor frequency and voltage, the unit helps reduce energy use and mechanical stress across typical heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning installations. Its variable-speed control also allows connected equipment to respond gradually to changing demand instead of operating continuously at full speed.
The input section accepts a voltage range of 200 – 240 VAC, allowing the drive to connect directly to compatible low-voltage distribution systems without a transformer. It is designed for three-phase operation, so line current is shared across three conductors for balanced loading and smooth motor torque. The housing has an IP20 chassis protection level, providing protection against accidental finger contact while allowing ventilation inside a suitable cabinet. An integrated EMC network meets RFI class A1 (C2), helping limit conducted emissions on industrial power systems shared with sensitive electronics. The internal boards have a coated PCB finish that protects circuit traces from airborne moisture and mild contaminants commonly found in mechanical rooms.
The drive has no brake chopper, so an appropriate external braking solution may be necessary when an application requires rapid deceleration. It is also supplied with no local control panel, which means parameter access requires a compatible remote tool or detachable LCP accessory. Menu text is provided through the Standard Language Pack, supporting clear navigation through the available operating and configuration menus. Cable routing uses Adaptation A with standard knockout entries, allowing power and control wiring to enter through prepared enclosure openings. The open chassis design requires installation in an enclosure that provides the necessary protection, ventilation, and wiring clearances for the operating location.
