The 134F4072 installation box is produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. It serves as the decentralized interface that lets a VLT drive mount directly on equipment rather than inside a cabinet, supporting local motor speed control in conveyor, pump, and fan applications within industrial automation. By relocating power and signal termination points closer to the load, the unit helps shorten wiring runs and simplifies setup on production floors. This layout places the connection point near the machine, which can make decentralized drive installation more practical where cabinet space is limited.
The installation box fixes to machinery with flat brackets, while its cable entries use metric threads for standard gland fittings. It draws power from a three-phase 380-480 VAC supply, and internal terminals distribute line, motor, and control conductors to the attached VLT motor unit. This arrangement keeps external cabling organized around the drive assembly and supports direct machine mounting. The white housing is rated IP66/NEMA4X, so it resists high-pressure washdown and airborne particles in food or packaging zones. An integrated RFI Class A1/C2 filter reduces conducted noise when long shielded motor leads are used.
Drive-side hardware is intentionally limited; the unit has no brake circuitry and no fieldbus option. It is listed as Installation Box Only because the control inverter is located elsewhere in the VLT Decentral Drive FCD architecture. The incoming power connection has no mains plug, and the outgoing motor feeder is also supplied without a motor plug. Signal interfaces likewise omit sensor plugs and the fieldbus plug, while a display connector is provided for service tools.
