Product Description:
The 131Z9289 decentralized frequency converter is built by Danfoss for the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. Intended for mounting close to the motor, the unit supplies variable-speed control to conveyors, mixers, and other distributed stations, eliminating long shielded runs back to a central cabinet and reducing installation complexity in industrial automation lines. By placing the power electronics on the machine frame, the converter supports distributed layouts where each machine section can be wired more directly. This arrangement is useful on long conveyors or modular processing equipment where separate drive cabinets would add extra cable routing. Mechanical extras such as brackets, an installation box, and threaded bushings are omitted.
The drive outputs 2 HP of mechanical power and carries a continuous electrical rating of 1.5 kW. It is fed from three-phase 380–480 VAC mains, allowing direct connection to typical plant distribution networks without a step-down transformer. The three-phase input range fits common industrial mains, so the unit can be applied across many plant power systems without added conversion equipment. The white housing is rated IP66/NEMA 4X, which blocks dust ingress and resists high-pressure water jets. That enclosure suits wet or dusty installation points where the converter has to remain close to the driven equipment rather than inside a central cabinet.
The integrated RFI Class A1/C2 filter limits conducted emissions, while the A option is no fieldbus option. Motion arrest relies on the machine mechanics because the unit has no brake. Local diagnostics are limited to LEDs because there is no display connector, and power wiring must be hardwired because there is no mains plug. There is also no B option, D option, fieldbus plug, motor plug, sensor plug, or switch option, which keeps the hardware set simple. Because accessories and plug-in interfaces are minimized, the converter relies on fixed connections and basic onboard status indication instead of optional expansion hardware. Two reserved identifiers are present and do not affect current operation.
