The 131Z5367 decentralized variable-frequency drive is produced by Danfoss within the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. Designed to be mounted directly on or near an induction motor, the unit modulates supply frequency so that conveyor sections, pumps, and other field equipment can be speed regulated without a separate cabinet drive. By integrating power electronics in an IP-rated housing, the product reduces wiring length and allows localized control in distributed industrial automation layouts. This arrangement also helps place the drive closer to the load, which can simplify machine layouts where long motor cable runs are undesirable.

The drive’s communication layer is factory-configured for Profibus DP, allowing it to exchange setpoints and status words with PLCs over a single shielded trunk. Its motor-side output is sized for 3.0 HP, giving suitable capacity for medium-duty conveyor sections while remaining compatible with common motor applications in this power range. Supplying the inverter requires a 380-480 VAC three-phase mains feed, and the internal power stage converts that input into a rated mechanical output of 2.2 kW. All circuitry is enclosed in a standard white IP66/NEMA 4X housing, so washdown exposure and airborne dust do not compromise the enclosure during routine plant operation.

Electromagnetic compatibility is addressed through an integrated RFI Class A1/C2 filter, helping the device operate in industrial environments with shared power and signal routing. The inverter is ordered without a brake, so deceleration is handled electrically rather than through a mechanical holding function. The unit is supplied without a display connector, so parameter access is handled through the fieldbus or a remote programming panel. It also comes without mounting brackets, allowing the enclosure to be attached to a machine-specific support arrangement that matches the available mounting surface.
