The 131X7205 is a decentralized variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. Mounted close to the motor it controls, the unit converts fixed-frequency three-phase power into variable output suited for speed regulation in conveyors, mixers, and other distributed automation tasks. By combining the controller, filter, and power electronics in one housing, it reduces panel wiring and simplifies retrofit installations in wash-down or outdoor zones. Its decentralized layout also helps keep power and control hardware near the driven equipment, which can shorten cable runs in machine sections that are spread across a production line. That placement is useful on long conveyors and modular machinery where centralized cabinets would otherwise require longer motor leads.

This model accepts a mains supply of 380–480 VAC three-phase and delivers up to 1.5 kW of shaft power, equivalent to 2 HP. An enclosure rated IP66/NEMA 4X shields the electronics from high-pressure water jets and corrosion, allowing direct machine mounting without an additional cabinet. For conducted emissions control, the integrated filter meets RFI Class A1/C2, permitting operation on networks that require moderate electromagnetic compatibility without external chokes. These values describe the drive's supply range, output capacity, enclosure protection, and emissions performance. The sealed enclosure and built-in filtering support use in exposed locations where separate protective housings would add complexity.

Field integration is supported through the optional Profibus DP interface, enabling cyclic setpoint exchange and diagnostic polling from higher-level PLCs. Installation is simplified further by metric threads on all cable glands, and local parameter access is possible via the detachable display connector. The hardware is supplied in a small stand-alone configuration, so no external brackets, switches, sensor plugs, or brakes are fitted; only the required motor and mains leads are added. This arrangement leaves the housing ready for sealed cable entry and keeps the external connections straightforward for distributed mounting points. Because the unit omits preinstalled accessory hardware, surrounding machine parts can determine the final mounting and cable-routing approach.
