Danfoss builds the 131X5447 for the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. The unit is a decentralized variable-frequency drive that mounts close to, or directly on, small induction motors so that speed control, startup sequencing, and basic protection can be handled without a control panel-mounted inverter. This arrangement shortens cable runs, reduces panel heat, and supports use in conveyors, mixers, and other distributed factory zones. Placing the drive near the motor also helps keep machine layouts compact and reduces the amount of wiring routed back to the main cabinet.

The drive is housed in a standard black enclosure with an IP66/NEMA 4X rating, which means it is dust-tight and resists high-pressure water jets in washdown areas. It accepts a three-phase input of 380–480 V AC for common industrial mains. Internal power electronics supply a nominal shaft output of 0.5 HP, which equals 0.37 kW. Conducted emissions are limited by the integrated RFI Class A1/C2 filter. Because the A, B, and D option slots are not fitted and the fieldbus plug is absent, the unit operates through hardwired I/O rather than a network bus. There are no mains, motor, or sensor plugs, so all cabling terminates directly in the gland plate, and the switch option is not fitted.

A removable control panel can be fitted through the provided display connector, allowing parameter entry at the machine. The hardware is delivered as a complete small standalone configuration, so basic local operation remains available even when higher-level controls are offline. The enclosure uses metric threads for cable entry and related hardware. Because the inverter is supplied without a brake, any required holding torque must be provided by the mechanical system. This setup suits straightforward point-to-point motor control where local access and sealed cable entry are preferred.
