The 131X1255 is a decentralized AC drive from Danfoss that belongs to the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. Mounted close to the motor, it regulates induction-motor speed in conveyor lines, mixers, and other distributed automation cells. This arrangement helps reduce long shielded motor cable runs and lowers heat load in the main control cabinet. It is suited to machine sections where drive hardware needs to be placed near the process instead of inside a centralized enclosure. Communication with higher-level controllers is provided through an A Option slot equipped with Profibus DP, allowing cyclic setpoint exchange and diagnostic feedback.

This model operates on three-phase mains from 380-480 VAC and delivers 0.5 HP, which is equivalent to 0.37 kW of mechanical output. The housing is a sealed, black, die-cast enclosure rated IP66/NEMA4X, so it tolerates high-pressure washdown and airborne particulates. A dedicated display connector permits temporary keypad attachment for local parameter access without requiring a permanent operator panel on the unit. The internal RFI filter supports EMC compliance for industrial networks. The drive is built as a small standalone unit, so no external contactor or brake chopper is required for its intended load profile.

The unit has no brake, and several modular positions are left unassigned, including bracket and auxiliary B, D, and switch options. It is also shipped without mains, motor, or sensor plugs, while a separate fieldbus plug is unnecessary because the communication interface is already integrated. Threaded bosses use Metric threads for compatibility with common gland fittings. Radio-frequency suppression is handled by the built-in RFI Class A1/C2 filter, which limits conducted emissions on both the motor and supply leads.
