The FC302PK75T5E is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a modulated output that lets controllers adjust the speed of three-phase induction motors used on conveyors, pumps, and similar equipment. By altering voltage and frequency together, the unit maintains torque across the load range while protecting the motor from the inrush current and mechanical stress often associated with across-the-line starting.
The inverter delivers 0.75 kW of continuous electrical power, equivalent to 1.0 hp at the shaft, from a three-phase supply of 380–500 V AC. It tracks mains frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz with a tolerance of ±5% and can reproduce output frequencies up to 590 Hz, enabling oversynchronous operation when required. Voltage modulation reaches 100% of the incoming line voltage, and a dedicated flux mode supports closed-loop magnetization commands up to 300 Hz. Control terminals accept digital signals as high as 28 V DC, so sensors powered by standard control circuits can be wired directly. The drive permits only two input power-ups per minute to limit stress on its capacitors.
For output logic, the transistor sink provides up to 40 mA, which is sufficient for compatible status lamps or relay coils. The internal PWM bridge switches at 110 kHz to reduce acoustic noise and current ripple. Mains distortion is minimized by a true power factor of at least 0.9. To keep stator currents balanced, the disparity between line voltages must remain within 3.0%. Shielded motor cables may run up to 150 m, whereas unshielded cables can extend to 300 m without exceeding the drive’s dV/dt limits. These cable allowances support installation across larger machines while preserving the intended motor output waveform. Proper cable shielding and routing also help reduce electromagnetic interference around nearby control and feedback wiring.
