The FC302P5K5T6131Z0493HXXGXX is an AC variable frequency drive built by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. Within the VLT AutomationDrive FC product group, it converts fixed three-phase mains power into a regulated output so PLCs can adjust induction motor speed and torque in pumps, fans, conveyors, and other industrial machinery. The unit installs on a backplate, supports field wiring through screw terminals, and connects to existing cabinet layouts.
The inverter supplies 5.5 kW of continuous power and can generate carrier frequencies up to 590 Hz. When flux-mode vector control is selected, the frequency limit is 300 Hz, allowing the drive to operate high-speed spindles without mechanical gearboxes. Its control board samples the analog input at 10-bit resolution and drives a 0–10 V process output that supplies 200 mA to external meters. A separate 10 V reference supports sensors that draw up to 15 mA. The dynamic brake engages when the DC link reaches 943 V DC, and a 12-bit converter controls the analog output. Standard cable entries accommodate shielded motor leads up to 150 m long or unshielded runs up to 300 m long. Starts are limited to two per minute to protect the charging circuits. The chassis does not include a mains option module. Relay 2 can switch 2 A at 400 V AC, and branch protection should use a gG-10 fuse.
The drive monitors abnormal voltage levels to reduce the risk of damage during regenerative operation. A warning appears when the voltage reaches 965 V DC. If the level increases to 975 V DC, the overvoltage alarm activates and the drive performs a controlled stop. For upstream protection, the terminals accept a gG-32 fuse, which is the maximum permitted size. Power and control conductors can be routed through the standard gland plate to maintain enclosure sealing. This arrangement separates the conductors while providing suitable entry points for shielded motor cables and control wiring.
