Product Description:

The FC302-312 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency, three-phase input power into variable-voltage, variable-frequency output power that controls induction and permanent-magnet motors. Used in material-handling lines, pump skids, and conveyor modules, the drive provides closed-loop speed control, torque limiting, and start-stop sequencing so downstream machinery can maintain repeatable motion profiles as loads and operating temperatures change.

The single analog output channel uses a 12-bit converter that provides 4,096 discrete steps, and the receiver impedance must remain below 500 Ω for a linear response. The drive has two digital outputs that operate at 32 kHz, producing clean pulse streams for high-speed sequencing. Its process image updates every 1 ms, supporting closed-loop speed accuracy of ±0.15 rpm across a 1:1000 operating range. The available control connections also include two relay contacts and two digital inputs, allowing the drive to exchange status and command signals with external automation equipment.

Each digital output can source up to 40 mA, providing sufficient current for light-duty relays or optocoupler interfaces. The drive maintains its full rating at altitudes up to 1000 m when the supply phase imbalance remains within 3.0% of nominal. Grid performance is supported by a displacement power factor greater than 0.98, while the true power factor remains at least 0.9 to limit reactive demand. Unshielded motor cables may extend up to 300 m, while shielded motor cables are limited to 150 m. These cable limits allow the drive to serve motors installed near the control panel or at more distant locations while controlling the electrical effects associated with long cable runs.
