The FC-302PK37T5E20H1B is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. The unit converts fixed-frequency electrical power into a variable-frequency, variable-voltage output that allows a plant controller to regulate induction motor speed. It can control motor torque and speed in automated conveyors, pumps, fans, and other industrial machinery where operating demands change over time. Electronic speed control also reduces the need for mechanical throttling components in suitable pump and fan systems.
The drive accepts a line input of 380–500 VAC, allowing connection to common industrial supply networks within that voltage range. Operation with three-phase power distributes the electrical load across three conductors and supports compatible industrial motors. The inverter provides a continuous mechanical output of 0.37 kW, making it suitable for fractional-horsepower machinery that requires controlled acceleration and precise speed adjustment. An embedded RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter attenuates conducted electrical emissions and can reduce the need for separate filtering equipment when the installation meets the applicable conditions. The variable-frequency output lets the connected motor respond to speed commands from the control system instead of operating continuously at line frequency. Adjustable acceleration and deceleration profiles can reduce abrupt mechanical loading on couplings, belts, and driven equipment.
A built-in brake chopper manages regenerative energy produced during rapid motor deceleration by directing that energy to a suitable braking circuit. The IP20 chassis enclosure provides protection against accidental contact with hazardous internal components when the unit is installed in a closed control cabinet. Hardware for normal cabinet mounting with A, B, and C frames supports direct installation on an appropriate panel backplate without special mounting arrangements. The chassis format permits access to the power, motor, and control connections while allowing cabinet airflow to remove operating heat. Adequate spacing around the drive should be maintained according to the applicable installation requirements so cooling air can pass through the enclosure.
