The FC-302P7K5T5E is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It modulates three-phase mains power to regulate induction motor speed and torque. Typical applications include conveyors, pumps, and general process equipment that require adjustable motor operation within industrial control cabinets.
The drive delivers a continuous power output of 7.5 kW, equivalent to 10 HP, giving mid-range machinery ample torque. It accepts a 380–500 VAC three-phase supply, allowing direct connection to compatible 400 V networks without a transformer. The inverter supports a maximum output frequency of 590 Hz. In flux mode, the output frequency is limited to 300 Hz. The true power factor remains ≥0.9, while the displacement factor exceeds 0.98 to keep reactive current low. The drive should not be powered up more than twice per minute to reduce stress on the DC link. A programmable transistor output supplies 40 mA at 32 kHz for high-speed signaling. Motor cables may extend up to 150 m when shielded or 300 m when unshielded, and input phase imbalance must remain below 3% to prevent drive trips.
Full output current is available at ambient temperatures up to 45 °C without requiring the controller to reduce its output. Altitude does not affect the output rating at installation heights up to 1000 m. Between 1000 m and 3000 m, a linear derating curve protects the power semiconductors as lower air density reduces cooling performance. The drive meets the IE2 energy-efficiency class, supporting energy-efficient motor control in applicable industrial systems. Integral grounding clamps accept braided cable shields and help limit radio-frequency leakage into nearby instrumentation.
